Valentine's Day Aftermath!

Love is not effortless!

Fresh off of Valentine's Day and I am ready to return to work. Home-life is not as easy to navigate as of late. It's like a land mine of emotion and sensitivity and I am exhausted from the trial and error of it all.

What seemed to be a casual evening with the immediate family, quickly soured and succumbed to a discussion turned disagreement and full out argument between the hubs and I. Valentine fun for everyone right?

Attempts to shield the true severity of negative behavior were not as strong as I had hoped and therefore allowed the young ears of both of our boys, (yes I have 2 boys now - we'll catch up later) to have a front-row on the action and decimation of both of our characters.

Game. Set, and match!
Argument - 1. Parents - 0

That lengthy unloving barrage of verbal blows back and forth took up nearly 90 minutes of family time. Finally coming to our senses and a thorough understanding of where the tensions truly stemmed from, we salvaged what was left of the love charged holiday and ate and watched a movie. Slowly the children trickled away to continue to do their own thing, iPads in tow while we watched Transformers 3.

Tired and defeated, we both fell asleep on the movie and called it quits at almost 1 AM.

So much for Valentine's Day
